ConstelliumCARES: Supporting our communities
Constellium believes in the importance of giving back to the communities we call home. Our community outreach program, ConstelliumCARES, is built around initiatives organized by our sites, with the support of a dedicated €1 million fund to amplify the impact of these efforts.
Around the world and throughout the year, our sites participate in local community initiatives, with active engagement from our employees. Together, they champion education and job training programs, sustainability projects, and community building activities.
Our sites’ community service programs are supported by the ConstelliumCARES Fund, which can sponsor up to €1 million per year to support global, regional, or local projects. For the first three years, through 2025, the Fund will focus on addressing climate change, promoting diversity and inclusion, and supporting education and skill-building.
Supporting schools and students in need in the U.S.
Three grants will support education initiatives in underprivileged communities in Alabama, Georgia, and Michigan. In Alabama, which ranks 44th in the nation compared to public school systems in other states, a ConstelliumCARES grant was awarded to the Education Foundations of the Florence, Muscle Shoals and Tuscumbia city school districts. This funding will provide additional resources that will directly benefit students in these underprivileged districts. At the initiative of our facility in White, Georgia, ConstelliumCARES is helping to finance a facility upgrade for the Murphy Harpst Children’s Center’s equine therapy program, an organization that provides equine-assisted activities and therapies for children in residential and foster care. In Michigan, at the initiative of our Van Buren plant, ConstelliumCARES is funding Beyond Basics which aims to help a “Constellium Class” of ten students improve their reading ability by one or more grade levels.
Planting trees in Issoire with CEN Auvergne
Biodiversity is a priority for Constellium and for the communities in which we live and work. With a project funded by ConstelliumCARES, CEN Auvergne will plant approximately 50 fruit trees on the premises of our facility in Issoire, France, creating a new environment that promotes biodiversity by benefiting insects, birds and other species. In addition to a financial contribution from ConstelliumCARES, the Issoire plant will provide access to land, water, and electricity. Employees of our Issoire plant are welcome to be actively involved in the management and promotion of this natural space.
Promoting STEM Careers to female students in France
Constellium is actively engaged in making the manufacturing sector more diverse and inclusive, with a commitment to gender diversity in particular. The ConstelliumCARES Fund is financing two initiatives in France to promote this objective. “Elles bougent” introduces female students in middle and high school to the exciting jobs of engineers and technicians, with our French employees volunteering as mentors and ambassadors. We are also financing scholarships for female students with the Bourse Sebastienne Guyot in partnership with Fondation CentraleSupélec in Paris.
Mentoring and Internships for Paris Students
The ConstelliumCARES Fund is supporting the Jeunesse d’Oree initiative (led by Home Sweet Momes), which helps students from underprivileged areas of Paris transition to the professional world, with opportunities for training, mentoring and internships. Constellium Paris is already welcoming interns from this organization at our headquarters.
Preparing U.S. Veterans for Careers with ACP
Constellium has partnered with American Corporate Partners ACP for many years to assist U.S. veterans and their spouses as they transition to civilian careers. The ConstelliumCARES Fund strengthens this partnership and provides additional support for training and mentoring programs.
Opportunities for People with Disabilities in France
With a grant to Handi Cap Evasion ConstelliumCARESis helping people with disabilities enjoy the outdoors with specialized wheelchairs that can be used for hiking and trekking in the Issoire region. The facility is located in a rural and mountainous area, and with these wheelchairs, disabled adults and children will be able to participate in many of the activities organized by schools or the community. Constellium is also supporting Afute with a grant to promote the social integration of young people with autism or other developmental challenges through access to vocational training, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities.
Supporting Women & Children with Marian House
Marian House is a leading organization in the Baltimore area offering housing and rehabilitation services to women and their children who have suffered trauma, physical or sexual abuse, the disease of addiction, and other challenges that left them homeless, unemployed and often separated from their families. Our grant is providing additional resources so that Marian House can tutor women who are pursuing their GED (high school education equivalency certification) or other advanced training. Education is key in the journey these women take toward independence.
Assisting people in need in the Paris area
The Fund is supporting Aux Captifs, La Liberation, an association providing individualized assistance to homeless and excluded people in Paris. La Touline de Paris (led by the Fondation d’Auteuil), an initiative supporting the transition and integration of adults and children in need in the Paris area, also received a grant from ConstelliumCARES.
