Constellium “Closes the Loop,” accelerating automotive aluminium circularity

In partnership with French recycling companies INDRA, GALLOO, and MTB RECYCLING, Constellium is leading a new R&D initiative called “Close the Loop.” This new project aims to develop technologies for dismantling, sorting and remelting wrought aluminium from end-of-life vehicles and returning it to the automotive manufacturing process, preserving the value of aluminium and contributing to a circular economy. Recycling aluminium requires only 5% of the energy used to produce primary metal and emits 95% fewer GHG emissions. “Close the Loop” is funded in part by the French Environmental Agency ADEME under the France 2030 program
