Each Can Makes a Difference - America Recycles Day 2023

America Recycles Day (November 15) recognizes the importance and impact of recycling, which has contributed to American prosperity and the protection of our environment.

Aluminium beverage cans are the most recycled beverage container in the United States. Aluminium is also the most valuable material in the recycling bin. In 2020 alone, Americans recycled nearly 46.7 billion aluminium Used Beverage Cans, generating almost $700 million in revenue.

The Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI), Constellium, and other aluminium industry peers are committed to progressively raising the U.S. aluminium recycling rate from 45% today to 70% by 2030, 80% by 2040, and more than 90% by 2050.

Did you know? Constellium’s Muscle Shoals, AL plant recycles the equivalent of 20 billion aluminium Used Beverage Cans a year and produces aluminium sheet for new cans, which can be back on store shelves in as little as 60 days.
