Job Summary: The Head of Additive Manufacturing will drive the growth of Constellium’s recent additive manufacturing activity on a worldwide basis. Maximize value creation for the company by developing and executing a strategic plan and roadmap for the business. Also act as an inspirational and transformational leader for the team, ensuring complete adhesion to the defined strategy and excellent teamwork to achieve ambitious targets.
Responsibilities
- Understand how the aluminum additive manufacturing market is structured/being structured. Define the best positioning of Constellium in that market to maximize value creation for the company by developing and executing a strategic plan and roadmap for the business.
- As part of the larger business strategy, define and execute the marketing and communication strategy (e.g. articles, participation in conferences, trade shows etc.) required to promote our activity.
- Act as an inspirational and transformational leader for the team, ensuring complete adhesion to the defined strategy and excellent teamwork to achieve ambitious targets. Define role and responsibilities for each team member with a strong focus on coaching and growing the team’s skills.
- Ensure strong cohesion and excellent communications between the US and European parts of the team. Work collectively with other Constellium business units when it comes to joint customers.
- Fully manage the P&L statement of the activity. Grow the topline and control costs to ensure activity’s sustainable profitability.
- Establish and grow, together with the team, strong collaborations with a selected network of key customers, suppliers, academic partners.
- Support the team as appropriate in key negotiations.
- Assist the team in identifying unmet customer needs, monitoring competition and competing products, defining our roadmap for new product development.
- Contribute to building our “Additive Manufacturing Service Center” (i.e. powder warehouse, testing/characterization lab).
Qualifications
- Masters’ business degree, ideally preceded by a technical degree (e.g. Engineering, Technology, Materials, Metallurgy, etc.). OR Masters-level technical degree completed by an MBA or equivalent.
- Established experience in Additive Manufacturing or the Aluminum industry or end market customer experience (i.e. Aerospace, TID, Defense, Automotive).
- 15 years of experience minimum in a related technical domain, ideally Additive Manufacturing and/or Aluminum metallurgy.
- Very good knowledge of Automotive, Aerospace or Defense customers and markets is key.
- Experience in dealing/negotiating with large customers (e.g. Boeing, Lockheed Martin, GE, GM, Ford, Stellantis, SpaceX…).
- Very strong and demonstrated leadership skills to succeed in leading multi-skills (technical experts, sales managers, technical-sales, supply chain, quality engineers) and multi-cultural team (US+Europe+Africa+Asia). Ability to act as a real multiplier leader.
- Strategic thinking: ability to develop / articulate a clear vision for a business, ability to influence and align the team around the strategic vision and ability to synthesize complex information.
- Strong Change Management skills and ability to lead teams through uncertainty.
- Experience in managing a P&L statement.
- English (native language) and a good command of French is desirable.
